Student Testimonials

I believe that I received an excellent education at U of I and many other intangible aspects such as good ethical training as well.

It is easy to see why the program regularly rates at the top of the country. The faculty and staff are extremely helpful and the learning environment is second to none. The support that this program has from the medical school makes it very special.

Overall the program is extremely comprehensive. Iowa is ranked at the top for a reason; student are challenged and prepared appropriately.

The university of Iowa program was stellar and exceeded my expectations! I had a great experience with the program and had a lot of support to help me succeed. Additionally, I feel prepared to transition into the real world as a PA.

Alumni Testimonials

I was shy when I started the program about sharing my knowledge, and it pushed me to get to know people and be comfortable with myself. There was more to being a provider than knowledge, and the program taught me personal aspects of being a provider. I learned how to interact with patients but also other members of medical teams. I had tons of growth outside of medical knowledge that I did not expect.

The most important thing about picking a program is choosing one that will give you the best skillset and will enable you to practice with confidence when you graduate. Twenty-eight months is a short time in the grand scheme of things to get the best education.

Preceptor Testimonials

I am always amazed at how prepared UI PA students are to work in a busy Emergency department. Every year and with each student my expectations are surpassed. The UI CCOM PA Program has undoubtedly earned its top ranking year after year.

As medical practitioners, we all had preceptors, which made us who we are today, so I think that providers should think about teaching. It doesn’t have to be a student all the time, just one or two a year to give back to the profession.

To my knowledge, the University of Iowa Physician Assistant Program is the only one currently offering an elective rotation in urology/men's health. This speaks volumes for the program, acknowledging that men's health is an important part of everyone's health (and health care education). The PA students with whom I have had the privilege to work are some of the best students with whom I have EVER worked.
