2017 Richard E. Peterson Memorial Nuclear Medicine Lecture

Hossein Jadvar, MD

The Department of Radiology is honored to welcome Hossein Jadvar, MD, PhD, MPH, MBA, FACNM, FSNMMI, as the 2017 Richard E. Peterson Memorial Nuclear Medicine Lecturer, on November 2-3, 2017

Dr. Jadvar is Associate Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southern California.  He is a fellow and past president of both the American College of Nuclear Medicine (ACNM) and the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI).  He is a National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded investigator and serves on multiple NIH review panels, the Department of Defense, and the Imaging Technology and Informatics Peer Review Panel of the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT).  Dr. Jadvar serves as International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) expert on the Nuclear Medicine Panel.  He also serves on the editorial panels of many journals, including leadership editorial roles for J Nuc Med, Eur J Nuc Med Mol Imaging, AJR Am J Roentgenol and Clin Nuc Med. Dr. Jadvar is widely published and has given over 250 invited lectures at national and international venues.  His research interests include applications of PET in clinical outcomes and translational molecular imaging research with an emphasis on prostate cancer.

Richard E. Peterson, MDThe Richard E. Peterson Memorial Nuclear Medicine Lecture honors the work of Dr. Richard Peterson, who was the chief of Nuclear Medicine in the Department of Radiology, and who founded the Nuclear Medicine Department at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Iowa City.  Dr. Peterson was also a founding member of the American Board of Nuclear Medicine.
