Admission Process
- Apply online (http://admissions.uiowa.edu) to the College of Liberal Arts, Nuclear Medicine Interest by early November, prior to professional program application. Follow applicable instructions for Transfer or International Students.
- Apply to the Nuclear Medicine Technology professional program before January 15.
- Prerequisite courses must be completed prior to the start of the program. Preference will be given to applicants whose prerequisites are completed by June 1.
- Early acceptance criteria:
- Half of all prerequisites, 30sh, and 2.5 overall GPA by June 1, with plan to complete remaining prereqs the following year.
- Preference given to candidates with documented health care and job shadowing experiences.
- Limited number of positions available; application and selection process required; acceptance is not guaranteed.
- Admission into the College of Medicine, Nuclear Medicine Technology Program is contingent upon the successful completion of all prerequisites.
Notes:
- Track duration is 2 years of didactic and clinical education. Acceptance is not guaranteed; selection process is required due to limited clinical openings.
- Students are advised for success, based on academic strength, not necessarily for a 4 year plan.
- Prerequisites may take more than two years to complete.
