Trudy Laffoon, RN-BC, Nurse Manager for the Surgery Specialty Clinic, has been honored by the American Society for Pain Management Nursing for outstanding involvement and dedication to the community through her voluntary service. 

The prestigious American Society for Pain Management Nursing Humanitarian Award was presented to her at the organization’s  Annual Conference in Sept., 2016. Laffoon volunteers for the Appalachia Service Project, a Christian ministry that serves people in Central Appalachia, working to eradicate substandard housing. Her participation in this project began in 1973 when she attended the ministry as a youth. Her involvement continues today as she touches thousands of lives through her volunteering.
