Sharon Larson, DO, MS, Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery, will be the keynote speaker for the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women 15th Anniversary event to be held at the Marriott Hotel in Coralville, IA, on November 30, 2018. Go Red for Women is an American Heart Association campaign to raise awareness among women about the great health threat of heart disease. Dr. Larson's address will focus on the advancements in awareness, treatment and research of heart disease made in the last 15 years.

Dr. Larson joined the faculty of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery in November of 2016, becoming the first female cardiothoracic surgeon in the state of Iowa. More information about the AHA's Go Red for Women Luncheon can be found on their website here.
