Daniel Kelpsch successfully defended his thesis

Daniel Kelpsch successfully defended this PhD thesis entitled: Defining the nuclear localization and functions of actin in Drosophila oogenesis. These studies have established Drosophila follicle development as the first multicellular, developmental system to explore the regulation and functions of nuclear actin. He identified Fascin as a novel regulator of nuclear actin and has implicated nuclear actin in regulating chromatin organization, nuclear envelope shape/structure, nucleolar structure/function, and transcription.
