Dear Darren,

Congratulations on receiving the John P. Long Teaching Award! 

The purpose of the award is to honor Dr. Long and his dedication as an educator, researcher and his tireless devotion to service. This annual award was created to acknowledge and encourage a basic science faculty member who exhibits similar qualities. It is hoped that the award will stimulate future basic science faculty to emulate Dr. Long’s devotion to education, teaching, research and service to the University.  

As the awardee, you will receive a plaque and a check for $1,000.00. In addition, your name will be inscribed on a plaque along with all other recipients’ names, and this plaque shall be displayed in the Bowen Science Building foyer.

You will be honored at a Celebration of Excellence in Research, Scholarship, Teaching and Service event planned for Monday, April 24, 2023, from 3:30 - 5:00 pm.  

Once again, congratulations and thank you for your contributions to the College of Medicine.
