Thomas Lynch successfully passed his Ph.D. examination on Monday, July 18, 2016, in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology. His thesis title was "Adult Stem Cells in the Trachea and Tracheal Submucosal Glands".

These students began the year with the same opportunities as all other students, but through a strong commitment and a desire to learn, proved to be outstanding students.

Amy Guimaraes-Young successfully passed her Ph.D. examination on Thursday, April 7, 2016, in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology. Her thesis title was "Gynecological Tissue Homeostasis and Tumorigenesis Studies Using Mouse Models".
Zhao Sun successfully passed his Ph.D. examination on Friday, December 11, 2015, in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology. His thesis title was "New Molecular Mechanisms Controlling Dental Epithelial Stem Cell Maintenance, Growth and Craniofacial Morphogenesis".
Graduate student, Charlotte Feddersen, successfully passed her comprehensive examination on Friday, December 4, 2015 in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology. The title of her proposal was Liver Cancer: The Search for Effective Treatment.
Weam Shahin successfully passed his Ph.D. examination on Friday, November 20, 2015, in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology(pictured far right with Dr. Engelhardt). His thesis title was "Nox2-Dependent Igfbp2 Signaling Controls a Neurogenesis Program that Enhances Stroke Recovery".
On December 10th, 2015, the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology held its annual Years of Service Recognition Ceremony, honoring faculty and staff who have reached a landmark year in their service to the Department and University.
