Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists

The University of Iowa Department of Anesthesia has immediate openings for qualified Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) to:

  • Perform pre-op patient evaluation and coordinate the anesthetic plan in collaboration with the anesthesia faculty physician
  • Administer the anesthetic plan with a team approach in all anesthetizing locations
  • Perform post-op patient evaluation and care
  • Provide timely documentation of post-op visits on the anesthetic record

CRNA Practice

  • Competitive base salary, commensurate with experience, plus an opportunity for extra compensation
  • Flexible schedule (five 8-hour, four 10-hour or three 13-hour shift options) with voluntary overtime available
  • Minimal call
  • Team-oriented, progressive CRNA practice
  • Intraoperative placement of spinals and epidurals
  • CRNA placement of invasive monitoring modalities
  • Educational involvement available within the University of Iowa Nurse Anesthesia DNP program
  • Core group of pediatric CRNAs
  • Wide and dynamic clinical cases including:
    • Ambulatory surgery
    • Burns
    • Gynecology
    • Neurosurgery
    • Oral surgery
    • Orthopedics
    • Otolaryngology
    • Satellites
    • Transplant
    • Trauma
    • Urology
