Nathan Blair, MD, has been awarded $15,000 from Stead Family Children’s Hospital’s Discretionary Funds to participate in the national pediatric anesthesia safety and quality initiative known as Wake Up Safe. SFCH joins nearly 3 dozen other children’s hospitals in the U.S. that participate in a registry of serious adverse events in pediatric anesthesia and use that information to develop quality improvement initiatives. Blair will be the local investigator for Wake Up Safe.

Wake Up Safe is sponsored by the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia and supported by participating institutions and the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation. The goal of the program is to make pediatric anesthesia even safer.
