  • Degree from accredited PA or NP program (by the start of residency)
  • Current NCCPA or NP certification (by the start of residency)
  • Iowa state licensure/eligible (by the start of residency)
  • Official PA/NP School Transcripts
  • Three professional letters of recommendation (if employed, one from current supervisor; if in school, one from PA/NP Program Director or program faculty).

  • Application fee of $50 (made payable to UIHC, Dept. of Emergency Medicine)
    • Fee waived for University of Iowa students

Calendar of Events

  • Completed application and supporting documents must be received no later than August 1st
  • Interviews to be arranged in September (2019 interview day will be September 12th)
  • Notification of acceptance to be sent no later than October 15th
  • Residency start date is February 1st
  • Graduation is July 31st
