AI technology company founded by UI ophthalmologist featured on Big Ten Network

IDx, a startup company founded by professor of ophthalmology and retina specialist Michael Abramoff, MD, PhD, is featured in a BTN LiveBIG profile showing on the Big Ten Network. The segment involves the emerging role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the early diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy.

Abramoff developed the first FDA-approved autonomous AI diagnostic tool for retinopathy. The technology allows a trained operator to perform a diabetic eye exam and receive a clinical diagnosis that can help prevent unnecessary vision loss.
