The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine honored several graduates for their professional achievements and service and for their influence in the world of science and medicine.
Among those recognized was a distinguished alumna from the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Kathleen Digre, MD (81MD, 85R-Neuorology, 87F-Neuro-Ophthalmology) was selected to receive this year’s Award for Service in recognition of her career excellence in research, education, and administration. Digre is Professor of Neurology and Ophthalmology at the University of Utah School of Medicine, where she is also Chief of the Division of Headache and Neuro-ophthalmology. Her many distinctions include serving as president of the American Headache Society.

While in town to receive a Distinguished Alumni for Service Award, Dr. Kathleen Digre took time to present at Ophthalmology Morning Rounds. She also met with faculty, residents, and medical students to further collaborations and share career perspectives. |
