Dr. Drack will head a task force within AAPOS with the goal of educating pediatric ophthalmologists about genetic testing and gene therapy, and learning from pediatric ophthalmologists across the country how best to assist them with the evaluation of their genetic eye disease patients. “There was so much interest in genetics and gene therapy after I presented our gene therapy results for RPE65 LCA at last year’s meeting.”  Dr. Drack said. “Pediatric ophthalmologists are on the front lines seeing children with nystagmus and vision loss all the time. It is wonderful to have the national organization recognize the importance of this work to our field."
