Electrophysiology of Vision Conference

ERG SuiteIntroduction of full-field ERG and VEP testing in children

**Full agenda coming soon**

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  1. Implement electrophysiology testing to make clinical diagnoses and monitor ophthalmic disease.
  2. Perform a full-field electroretinogram (ffERG) and Visual Evoked Potential (VEP) in the clinical setting.
  3. Distinguish between technique-related versus physiologic and pathologic (clinical disease-related) variations in waveforms.
  4. Interpret ERG and VEP waveforms in the setting of genetic retinal disease or visual pathway disorders.

Faculty Disclosure

This program and its contents do not imply endorsement of any products. Disclosure statements have been supplied by all speakers and are available upon request.

Concept

This course will offer instruction on how to perform as well as interpret electro diagnostic studies. Emphasis will be placed on the basic aspects of electrophysiology including waveform interpretation and reporting. Detailed examinations of using electro diagnostics to understand the cellular and molecular genetics of disease will be provided. Hands-on training will provide instruction on how to perform ERG’s and an interactive workshop will provide experience in ERG interpretation.

Target Audience

This course is intended for ophthalmic technicians who are interested in learning the techniques of performing electrophysiology as well as basic waveform interpretation. It is also intended for ophthalmologists, retinal specialists, and vision researchers who are interested in increasing their competence in electrophysiology.
