Exciting advancements being pursued in the IIHG Bioinformatics Division in 2020:

Metabolomics data visualization

We have written a codebase to take the densely packed spreadsheets that are the output of a typical metabolomics analysis run and transform them into publication quality plots with associated p-values:

This format makes it much easier to rapidly assess meaningful changes between conditions of interest in your experiments.  Contact us if you'd like us to analyze your next metabolomics experiment in this way.

Bioconductor package development

Do you have an idea for a new algorithm or framework that helps to process or analyze NGS data?   Want to help it get widespread adoption and availability with your manuscript submission?

Talk to us about developing your idea into a Bioconductor project package.  Here is a package our group developed recently in collaboration with the Pezzulo lab:

https://github.com/jasonratcliff/aggregateBioVar

It is currently under review at Bioconductor.   Package development is complex and time-consuming.  Please plan for 3-6 months from idea to submission.

Pipeline design with Nextflow & SnakeMake

Do you need a custom analysis pipeline?   Need to perform a series of steps and transformations thousands of times using custom code snippets in python or R?  Talk to us about writing a custom pipeline for you using a modern parallel data analysis framework, like NextFlow.

We have experience developing NextFlow pipelines for ATAC-seq, RNA-seq, and other custom use cases.  We are currently using the NF technology to support the custom analysis needs of FBB-BioMed, an exciting startup company using RNA-seq for infectious disease screening.
