Topics in Genetic Counseling Webinar Series

The Iowa Institute of Human Genetics will be offering the Topics in Genetic Counseling Webinar Series to undergraduate students and recent college graduates interested in pursuing graduate school for genetic counseling.

The purpose of this series is to provide you with exposure to hot topics in the field and to assist in preparing you for a successful career in genetic counseling.

Part I consists of several pre-recorded lectures that cover many specialties in genetic counseling as well as some information sessions.

Part II consists of live webinars to allow for more discussion-based topics. Participants are expected to engage in discussions during each webinar session. Part II webinars are offered live in real time only - recordings are not made available for viewing later.

Participants can receive a Certificate of Completion if they attend all sessions, complete a pre and post-test, as well as a program evaluation.

Live sessions occur Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 12-1pm CT.  The days and times are chosen based on availability of the Genetic Counselors who are taking time out of their day to facilitate these discussions. It is not possible to accommodate requests to alter the schedule.
