- Enthesioblastoma, or olfactory neuroblastoma, is a malignancy which originates from the olfactory neuroepithelium in the nasal cavity (Fiani et al. 2019)
- Mass may invade the skull base, cranial vault, or orbit (Fiani et al. 2019)
- Metastases may be noted in up to 48% of cases (cervical lymph nodes, lungs and bones) (Fiani et al. 2019)
- Occurs most commonly between ages of 40 and 70 (Fiani et al. 2019)
- Males and females are impacted equally (Limaiem et al. 2023)
- May present with nonspecific symptoms such as epistaxis, seizures, proptosis, nasal obstruction, and anosmia (Rao et al. 2022)
- On CT:
- Non-contrast: a soft-tissue mass which produces nasal cavity enlargement and destruction of the cribiform plate
- Contrast: enhancing mass
- On MR:
- T1: Hypo- to isointense mass
- T2: Iso- to hyperintense mass, cysts appear very intense and homogeneous
- T1 post-contrast: highly enhancing
