The long term goals of our laboratory are to investigate the mitochondrial and metabolic signaling in cardiovascular and kidney diseases and aging, in order to discover novel therapeutics targets to prevent and treat diseases.

1. Mitochondrial signaling in cardiac arrhythmia and heart failure: acetylation, ROS and the effect of sex hormones, using murine and iPSC models of mitochondrial cardiomyopathy.

2. Mitochondrial oxidative stress in kidney aging, acute kidney injury, myeloma-associated kidney diseases and chronic kidney diseases.
