This is a student interest group to support medical and PA students who are current or expectant parents and those interested in learning more about parenting. We provide information regarding policies at CCOM which mothers and fathers should be aware of for the purpose of planning parental leave or accommodations needed for pregnancy and breastfeeding. We endeavor to foster a sense of community for those who are trying to sort through the trials of parenting while also experiencing rigorous medical training. We look to educate the community through sessions and workshops on topics like financial planning, childcare options, transitioning to residency, etc. Examples of other activities include potluck gatherings, meal trains for baby arrivals, sharing of secondhand clothing or other items, and a platform for asking classmates for advice.
