The Infectious Disease Interest Group (IDIG) was formed to foster medical student interest in infectious diseases. The current aims of the IDIG include examining current issues and topics in infectious disease and growing connections to mentors and faculty members in these areas. This group was inspired by the events of the COVID-19 pandemic. Infectious diseases have always had the potential to significantly impact the way human society operates and indeed, have significantly shaped the history of society and of medicine. Anyone is free to join in or stop by the meetings – this field has broad impacts in all medical areas. Please reach out if you want to learn more or want to get involved!
