Palliative care is specialized care provided by a multifaceted team dedicated to improving the quality of life for patients facing serious illnesses. The elements of palliative care are beneficial and appropriate for anyone facing a serious illness and at any stage of its progression.
This group exists with the intent to educate interested students about the philosophies of palliative care and ways in which they can be incorporated into their future practices. This will be achieved by establishing a connection between students and UIHC palliative care team members through organized events and a growing compilation of recommended content related to the field.
