Graduation Reception and Ceremony


In accordance with the university and our commitment to mitigating the risk to public health regarding the COVID-19 situation, the Carver College of Medicine commencement ceremonies (May 2020) moved to virtual ceremonies.  See further below for anticipated 2021 ceremony details.

For 2021, due to the continuing COVID-19 situation, these plans are tentative: The College of Medicine’s graduation reception is anticipated to be held from 2:00-4:00 pm on Friday, May 14, 2021, at the Medical Education and Research Facility. Family and friends are invited. Students are encouraged to give their family and friends a tour of the building. The class composite picture will be on display and the Match Day slides will be running on the monitors in the atrium.

For 2021, due to the continuing COVID-19 situation, these plans are tentative: The College of Medicine’s graduation ceremony will be held at 6:30 pm on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Hancher Auditorium. The doors open at 5:30 pm. Graduates must arrive no later than 6:00 pm. Due to limited seating, students will receive an allotment of tickets for their guests. There is no reserved seating. For specific seating accommodation requests, please contact Annette GriffinMore details will follow regarding any changes to the May 2021 graduation.

In addition to the Doctor of Medicine degrees the Masters in Medical Education degree will also be awarded.
