Microbiology department head and Professor Pat Schlievert has been awarded the 2016 ASM Graduate Microbiology Teaching Award  at the ASM conference in Boston which occurred in June.  It honors an individual for exemplary teaching of microbiology and mentoring of students at thegraduate and postgraduate levels (e.g., graduate school, medical school, or other health professional schools) and for encouraging students tosubsequent achievement.
