Any changes or additions relating to the SUMR program is included below.  In particular, pay close attention to the information on the Dress Code for Labs and related documentation.

Identification:

It is VERY IMPORTANT that you bring the following to campus:

1) your passport
or
2) your driver's licence & social security card
(in which case, both are needed).

These documents are needed to complete your payroll appointment paperwork.

Also bring your banking information: bank routing & account numbers are needed for direct deposit of your pay.

Housing

You will be staying in Petersen Hall this summer.  More information available on the BSURF site.

Towels & Housekeeping

One pillow, one bedspread, and sheets will be provided by the residence hall (new linens provided weekly).  You may want to bring another blanket and/or pillow.

Trash will be emptied 2 times weekly.

Bring your own COLORFUL towels (as white ones will be picked up by housekeeping and disappear).

Parking

If you plan to drive your vehicle to Iowa City and need to make arrangements for parking the SUMR Program will provide a parking pass to the Hawkeye Storage lot, west of the Hall of Fame building.  Jess Jensen will ask you for the following information: Make, model and color of vehicle, license plate number, and issuing state.

Recreational Services

If you wish to obtain a monthly fitness membership to the University of Iowa's recreational facilities, please let Jess Jensen know.

Meals

We do not provide meal plans for our SUMR students. However, each room has one microwave & fridge unit and we can organize a grocery shopping trip on Sunday if there is interest.

Lunches on Wednesdays (sandwich wrap) and Thursday (various by MSTP office) will be provided beginning Thursday, June 6th.

Hawkeye Dollars

Laudry machines are operated by Hawkeye Dollars. (They work for other things also).

Hillcrest dorm has the only Hawkeye Dollar card dispenser & dollar fill up station on the west side of the river. Please view the details of hawkeye dollars on their site. https://housing.uiowa.edu/hawkeye-dollars

Only add the amount of money you will be able to use during the summer as there is a $20 processing that will be deducted from the balance to get your refund.  See the refund policy for more information.
