Caroline Martin awarded Residency Coordinator Recognition Award
Congratulations to our coordinator Caroline Martin for being selected as the recipient of the 2024 Residency Coordinator Recognition Award from AAN, which was presented at the AAN Annual Meeting in Denver, CO.
University of Iowa awarded $5 Million towards the Nate and Beth Tross Epilepsy Cures Fund for pediatric research and the Tross Family Adult Epilepsy Research Fund
Nate and Beth Tross, a philanthropic couple, have pledged a new commitment of $5 million towards epilepsy research. As part of this commitment, they will establish the Beth L. Tross Epilepsy Professorship. Their latest pledge will also contribute towards the creation of the Nate and Beth Tross Epilepsy Cures Fund for pediatric research, as well as the Tross Family Adult Epilepsy Research Fund. This generous donation will help promote research and development in the filed of epilepsy, with a particular focus on improving treatments for children and adults affected by the condition.
Dr. Michael Shy and UIHC named one of The Spastic Paraplegia – Centers for Excellence Research Network
Investigators dedicated to researching Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (HSP) and Primary Lateral Sclerosis (PLS) from around the United States have come together to create critical resources for the HSP and PLS community. The SP-CERN (Spastic Paraplegia Centers of Excellence Research Network) establishes a network of ten initial centers in North America. Dr. Shy and UIHC are now part of this group.
