Neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Lewy-Body dementia, Frontotemporal Dementia, Huntington's disease, and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis are a major challenge for our generation. There are no disease-modifying therapies for these diseases. The University of Iowa is working hard to care for patients with these diseases and discover new treatments. We are based in Neurology and the Iowa Neursocience Institute but faculty across the University are included.
