Dr. Justin Grobe receives new R01

Justin L. Grobe, PhD, Assistant Professor of the Department of Pharmacology, with the collaboration of Dr. Rahmouni's laboratory, has been awarded a 5-year $1.9 million National Institutes of Health (NHLBI) R01 Research Grant entitled "Interaction between leptin and angiotensin in the pathogenesis of obesity-hypertension".  This project is focused on understanding the cross-talk between the hormones leptin and angiotensin within the hypothalamus of the brain, in the pathogenesis of obesity-associated hypertension.  The project represents the continuation of work previously supported by the American Diabetes Association.
