The Obesity Research and Education Initiative (OREI) was featured in the December 2014 issue of the Iowa Alumni Magazine, published by the University of Iowa Alumni Association ( ). The article by Kathryn Howe recognizes the OREI’s multidisciplinary approach, across multiple colleges, departments and centers at the University of Iowa, in confronting the complex challenges of obesity and finding solutions to one of the nation’s top health threats. 

The article features interviews with OREI members Allyn Mark, Charles Brenner, Lucas Carr, Sharon Tucker, Vanessa Curtis, Thomas Scholz, Linda Snetselaar, Barbara Baquero, Edith Parker, and Helena Laroche discussing their collaborative efforts in combating obesity through research, education and healthcare at the University of Iowa.
