New Undergraduate Course on Obesity: Causes, Consquences, Prevention & Treatment - HHP:3050:0001
With the support of the leadership of Health and Human Physiology (HHP) and CLAS, the OREI has cosponsored the introduction of a new 3 semester hour undergraduate course in Obesity: Causes, Consequences, Prevention & Treatment under the direction of Lucas Carr, Assistant Professor in HHP. New Health and Human Physiology Undergraduate Minor in Physical Activity and Nutrition Science
With involvement of the OREI and the leadership of HHP, CLAS has developed a new undergraduate minor in Physical Activity and Nutrition Science that includes the new course—Obesity: Causes, Consequences, Prevention & Treatment—as a required course. This minor is intended for students outside of HHP with an interest in this area.
UI CCOM Mini-Med School on the Science of Obesity
In conjunction with the CCOM and the UI Institute for Clinical and Translational Science, the OREI presented a three evening “course” on the Science of Obesity for an audience of 200 to 250 including UI alumni, donors, educators, students and retirees on April 16, 23 and 30, 2013.
