Dr. Lucas Carr, Assistant Professor in Health and Human Physiology and member of the Obesity Research and Education Initiative at the University of Iowa, recently published an article in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine  entitled, "Cross-sectional Examination of Long-term Access to Sit-Stand Desks in a Professional Office Setting" which shows employees with long term access to sit-to-stand desks stood roughly an hour more each workday than employees with traditional sitting desks. These findings support the use of sit-to-stand desks as a sustainable approach for reducing harmful sitting time at work. This study was recently highlighted in Iowa Now and has also received national media attention.
