Surgeons and other clinicians in the University of Iowa Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation provide care for patients with a variety of diseases and injuries of the bones, joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. They work with comprehensive teams of care providers including physical therapists, rehabilitation specialists, nurses, advanced care providers, as well as other health care professionals to manage and care for virtually every orthopedic condition. Our clinicians employ the most up-to-date techniques for diagnosis and treatment of the orthopedic patient.

In 2022-2023 our Orthopedics program was  identified as “high-performing” by U.S. News & World Report. We provide the most complete bone and joint health services in Iowa.
