Laboratory Process

The Orthopedic Histopathology Service Center (OHSC) is able to provide quick estimates for grant proposal purposes as well as live quotes for awarded projects along with final invoicing and billing.  To request an estimate for grant submission, please complete the OHSC Project Estimate Form.

Once your project is funded and you have end on In life dates, you can request full service for your project.  You may request a consultation by checking the appropriate box on the request form or by phone or email.  If you request a consultation on the from, we will schedule a time to call you and review your project needs in detail.  To request service and a final quote, please complete the OHSC Service Request Form.

Complete the Chain of Custody form prior to delivery of any samples to the OHSC Laboratory.  This must be printed and the original copy brought with the samples to the lab.  We suggest samples be brought to the lab within 24 hours of sacrifice to ensure proper fixation and handling.  Complete a new form for each group for projects with multiple end dates. 

Upon project completion,you will be notified via email and will be able to pick up all  raw data for your project including tissue blocks, slides and paperwork.  All projects placed at the OHSC are carried out in accordance with GLP guidelines and all raw data is available for every project.
