On behalf of the Pediatric Medical Student Education team, we are delighted to announce that Dr. Lauren Kanner will be joining our team in the Assistant Clerkship Director role starting January 1, 2021. Dr. Kanner is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the division of Pediatric Endocrinology. She has been actively involved in clerkship activities for the last several years, teaching in both the core clerkship and advanced student lecture series and serving as a member of our pediatric medical student education committee (DIAPER). She is also involved in educational programming at the national level through her work in the North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (NASPAG). She will be involved in all aspects of our medical student education program, with a focus on the core clerkship activities.

Dr. Kristen Sandgren will now be serving as our Director of Advanced Student Activities. Her work will be focused on continuing to develop our sub-internship program as well as expanding our advanced student lecture series. She will continue to be involved in core clerkship activities as well.

We would like to thank Dr. Vanessa Curtis for all the work she has done to help build our medical student education program over the last 6 years. She created the foundation for our advanced curriculum in pediatrics and developed the infrastructure for our robust advising program for medical students applying for residency in pediatrics. She has advised and mentored many students who have come through our program. We wish her luck in her future endeavors!
