Colin P. Derdeyn, MD, FACR, was awarded a 2019 Distinguished Investigator Award from the Academy for Radiology & Biomedical Imaging Research.  The award recognizes the achievements of researchers for their accomplishments in the field of medical imaging.  Its recipients are considered to rank in the top 10% of all academic radiology faculty.

Dr. Derdeyn is Krabbenhoft Chair and DEO for the Department of Radiology and also serves as the Director of the Iowa Institute of Biomedical Imaging.  He is also Professor in both the Departments of Radiology and Neurology.  He is one of 37 researchers from around the country to receive this prestigious award. 

The honorees of this award will be inducted into the Academy's Council of Distinguished Investigators at a ceremony that will be held at the Radiological Society of North America's Annual Meeting in November 2019.
