Radiology NIH Research Funding 2018

The University of Iowa was recently ranked 27th in the country among all public and private medical schools for National Institutes of Health (NIH) radiology research funding.  This ranking comes from The Academy for Radiology and Biomedical Imaging Research, which tracks the amount of money the NIH awards every year for research related to diagnostic radiology, as well as the amount awarded to departments of radiology.  Radiology research at the UI received $5,519,875.00 in 2018, which is up from $2,944,230 in 2017.  The Department of Radiology is also among the highest ranked departments at The University of Iowa for NIH funding. Getting NIH funding is a competitive process and recognizes excellent science. Research is fundamental to our core mission, and we are proud of the contributions and achievements of our researchers in support of that mission.
