The Department of Anesthesia is pleased to welcome three new faculty members in July:

• Mark Dziuba, MD. Dr. Dziuba is completing his fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at the University of Michigan. He did his residency at University of Toledo Medical Center and earned his MD at Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poland.
• Rachel Hadler, MD. Dr. Hadler joins us from the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine in Philadelphia, where she was an assistant professor of anesthesiology and critical care. She earned her MD and completed her residency at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in critical care at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Her husband will be joining the Carver College of Medicine faculty in the Department of Surgery.
• Mark Pedersen, MD. Dr. Pedersen is returning to Iowa after completing his residency at the University of Florida-Jacksonville and a fellowship in critical care medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. He earned his MD from Carver College of Medicine and his master’s of public health in epidemiology from the University of Iowa College of Public Health.
