Donna Hammond, PhD, received an R01 grant award entitled “Mechanistic Studies of the Natural Product Nicotinamide Riboside for Relief of Painful Sensory Neuropathy.” These studies will establish the mechanism(s) by which this vitamin B3 precursor of NAD+ can prevent the development of painful peripheral neuropathies that often accompany chemotherapy with agents like paclitaxel. This is a 5 year award in the amount $1,815,256.
