Cynthia A. Wong, MD, received the 2021 Distinguished Service Award from the Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP), the society's highest honor. It is awarded by the Board of Directors to recognize the outstanding achievements and service of a long-standing member. Recipients have made numerous contributions to the Society, provided exceptional service to the specialty of obstetric anesthesia, and are exemplary ambassadors of obstetric anesthesia.

Wong is a professor of anesthesia and has served as the Department's chair and executive officer since 2015.
