Chronic Pain

Chronic pain as a result of tissue injury, caused by diseases or trauma, can be characterized as neuropathic pain. It is also known by the term chronic pain syndrome (CPS). Damaged nerve fibers send incorrect signals to the brain, and the pain can range from shooting and burning to tingling and numbness.
