A Day in the Life of a Medical Student

Have you ever wondered what it‘s like to be a medical student? If so, you're in luck. Carver College of Medicine first-year student Armando Cervantes created a video to give family, friends, and future students a first-hand glimpse into the daily life of a medical student.

"Initially, I decided to document med school because, as a pre-med, I really didn't have a good understanding of what it was like to be a medical student," Cervantes said.

The video is made through a phone app that allows the user to record a one-second video each day of anything they like. Viewers will see some of Cervantes’ daily activities -- whether it's learning in the classroom, experiencing Iowa City, or even relaxing at home.

"I've hosted a couple students and bragged about how great it is here. I think it'd help if they were able to see it first hand," Cervantes added. "I want to show them how great Carver is and give them something they can quickly reference to help them make a decision." Cervantes hopes the video will encourage students to apply to Carver.

His idea was inspired by a TED talk.
