Distinguished Alumni Awards and 2017 Medicine Alumni Reunion Weekend

Distinguished Alumni Awards were presented June 8, 2017, to individuals who exemplified outstanding achievement, service, and friendship. The recipients and their families were invited to a dinner in Hancher Auditorium along with members of the Carver College of Medicine leadership team to honor their accomplishments.

The weekend of June 9 also marked the 2017 Medicine Alumni Reunion Weekend. Classes of 1947, 1952, 1957, 1962, 1972, and 1977 were invited to take part in the weekend festivities.

The Medicine Alumni Society organized events such as the 50th reunion class luncheon, medical campus walking tour, and UI campus bus tour. The various activities allowed the 100 attendees to reminisce on their time spent at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.

The weekend concluded with a reunion dinner in the Kinnick Stadium press box. Members of all classes were invited to attend and enjoy an evening full of class photos, a cocktail reception, and visiting with their fellow classmates.
