Updated COVID-19 Guidelines for Researchers
With the increasing vaccinations among CCOM staff, today we can begin to incrementally change our building policy towards pre-COVID times.
As of today, we are removing density requirements in laboratory research spaces. Previously, the policy restricted density to one person per lab bay and one person per office. This can now be increased. Small group meetings may now convene in large conference rooms and auditoria. With warmer weather, we encourage staff to consider holding meetings outside. Within CCOM buildings, the following still remain in effect:
- Masks are still required in CCOM buildings.
- Remember, many of our colleagues are not yet vaccinated and may feel uneasy about returning to normal density. Please be responsive and responsible as we transition forward.
- Access to CCOM buildings will remain restricted. Please be sure to carry your badge with you at all times.
- Eating areas will remain socially distanced and plexiglass barriers that restrict airflow will remain in place
- Nobody is required to divulge their vaccination status or other health information. However, everyone is free to volunteer that information to others.
Please contact the CCOM Office of Research with questions at 335-8587 or com-research@uiowa.edu.
