Please join us at the K K Merker Gallery on the Basement level of North Hall for "place + Trust," an exhibit of a new body of work by Jennifer Miller. This work explores combinations of handmade paper and text in the forms of sculptures, banners, pulp paintings, and a letterpress printing of a poem titled "Get Out of the Maze," written by Ma Thida. Ma Thida is a Burmese human rights activist, surgeon, writer, and former prisoner of conscience whom Jen met when Ma Thida was a Writer in Residence in the University's International Writing Program. Jen is a first-year MFA candidate at the University of Iowa Center for the Book. "place + Trust" runs through Friday, Feb. 17. Jen will host a reception from 5-7 p.m. on Friday the 10th, where she will present an Artist's Talk at 6 p.m.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa–sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Kathleen Tandy in advance at (319)335-0447 or center-for-the-book@uiowa.edu
