2024 UI College of Pharmacy Zada Cooper Leadership Symposium
The Zada Cooper Leadership Symposium honors a true pioneer: Zada Mary Cooper.
Cooper graduated from the UI College of Pharmacy in 1897 and continued as a faculty member until retiring in 1942. She was considered a master teacher, mentor, and innovator who was inspirational to her students. She advocated for women in pharmacy, for patients, and to strengthen standards in pharmacy education. Cooper is the first-known female pharmacy faculty member in the country and is hailed as the “Grand and Glorious Lady of Pharmacy.”
The symposium will kick off with a keynote address by Domer Distinguished Visiting Lecturer Vibhuti Arya, PharmD, MPH, FAPhA.
