TEK Talk: Proximity Ligation Assay in Flow Cytometry & Microscopy

Detection of Protein-protein Interactions & Multiple Protein Events by Flow Cytometry & Microscopy

Presented by: Seth Hanson, Research Technology Specialist, Millipore Sigma & Guanghao (Max) Liu, Graduate Student, Dr. Gloria Lee’s lab

  • The Proximity Ligation Assay (PLA), Duolink®, allows for simple and sensitive in situ detection of endogenous proteins.
  • Detection of protein-protein interactions, post-translational modifications and multiple protein events.
  • While originally developed for microscopy, Duolink PLA has now been optimized for flow cytometry applications.
  • This seminar will provide background information on the Duolink PLA technology and discuss recent advances, as well as relevant applications of PLA.

Individuals wishing to meet with the presenter should contact Sonya Housholder.

TEK Talks is a seminar series featuring techniques and approaches in molecular/cellular biology with a target audience of graduates students, postdocs and faculty who may have only cursory knowledge of the technique. If you are interested in hosting or have a suggestion for a TEK Talk topic, please contact the CCOM Office of Research at com-research@uiowa.edu.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa–sponsored events.
