Genetics and Genomics of Human Health and Disease

The Human Genome Project was completed in 2003. That ending marked the beginning of a new era where genetics and genomic science have fueled major advances in medicine and biotechnology.

Find out more about what the science of the human genome means for you at our community program featuring Richard M. Myers, PhD, president and science director at the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology, and leading expert in genetics and genomic science. Myers will describe how his work on functional genomics helps us better understand human diseases. We'll also discuss similar research being done right in your backyard at the University of Iowa.
