Edwin Stone, MD, PhD is the Director of the Institute for Vision Research at the University of Iowa (www.ivr.uiowa.edu). He is well known for his work in defining the genetic basis of blinding eye diseases: ranging from two of the most common causes of blindness, macular degeneration and glaucoma, to much rarer conditions like retinitis pigmentosa and Usher syndrome.

Gary Seamans will serve as the host. Gary and his wife, Camille, have generously supported several areas across campus over the years, including naming the Seamans Center for the Engineering Arts and Sciences.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa–sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Kelsey Hunold in advance at (319)467-8001 or kelsey-hunold@uiowa.edu
