Surgical Co-Management

The Surgical Co-Management Service functions as a consultive service for patients admitted to non-medicine services. The primary responsibility of the Surgical Co-management Service is to support continuing and on-going care of patients presenting with chronic or acute medical problems. There is in particular, a co-management model in place with routine, post-operative orthopedic surgery patients.

Additionally, this service functions as a teaching service as there is often medical students, and internal medicine residents rotating on the team. Faculty primarily assigned to these services are typically scheduled on service for two-week blocks.
