Diversity and Culture

The Diversity initiative of the Department of Internal Medicine joins the efforts of the Carver College of Medicine and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, to promote the recruitment and retention of residents, fellows and faculty of diverse backgrounds. We are committed to fostering a departmental and divisional climate conducive to the growth and development of residents, fellows and faculty of minority backgrounds and are dedicated to promote culturally competent health care.

"Our students and faculty enjoy a unique location in Iowa City, a unique town in the Midwest. It has the richness of culture and diversity found only in large metropolitan areas, yet contained in a small city 'packaging': safe, clean and friendly."
